Snagged this update from Alex Rodberg from TribalWar (http://www.tribalwar.com). The folks over at Garage Games (http://www.garagegames.com) have been very busy! Please keep in mind that this is only a beta patch, use at your own risk, and be sure to backup before installation :)
Word from Garage Games is that not only are they ready to give their Tribes 2 update a try in wide distribution, but they have incorporated a number of additional fixes from community coders as well. The update and complete list of improvements will be made available via Sierra's Tribes 2 website by end of day today.
As with all betas, we encourage only experienced users to test, as there is no support for beta releases. Back up your Tribes 2 folder and customizations before installing. Those familiar with pre-release software should have no problems. Please test the newest version of T2 in situations that would have typically caused UE's, FPS loss, or NULL bug. Eliminating those was our primary goals. Check out vehicles, weapons, packs, to make sure nothing has gone out of whack. Be sure to check out the readme file for all the details.
Thanks to everyone for their patience and support. If not for our fans this would not have been worth doing. Extra special thanks to the people who contributed fixes and suggestions and of course to Garage Games.
You can find the complete readme, download the open beta files, and get more info in the new Beta Test forum at [this address (http://community.sierra.com/WebX?13@95.VnQqa9UyLEY^2@.ef7acf4)].

P.S. The issue of Linux support is still looming and is currently still unresolved. Sierra cannot support Linux code, but we are open to a reputable Linux development company picking up where Loki left off. None have offered to date.
