Recently reinstalled, but the videos do not play

Oh how I've missed this game.
I recently stumbled on the fact that Mark Hamill voiced Harabec, so I decided to reinstall this wonderful bit of nostalgia.

The installation was successful, I can play the game; however, I am having trouble getting the videos to play,

That is, the intro video doesn't play, it hovers for a moment on the Starsiege emblem and then jumps straight to the menu. As well the video and audio during the briefings do not play.

I have attempted to search the forums here to no avail, and am wondering if you guys have any suggestions?

Try getting your SS CD into the highest drive letter possible ( D: better than E: ) , or don't simply put disks in highest letters (apparently the game looks in order into the drives, and if the first CD to be found is not SS then bad for ya)
