This one is a combination of very old tech with modern computer tech. In the late 19th century and early 20th century there was a tech called Stereoview. Basically a dual camera rig that took photos from slightly different angles like a 3D camera, and which were viewed with the old time equivilant of a Viewmaster - remember those? The photos were, of course B&W, and about an inch high, and were painstakingly hand colored by local artists. Here are a bunch taken in the 1880's in Japan, and animated using modern gif techniques so thay they move and allow you to get a 3D effect when vieweing them.
