I was just informed tonight by an idiot online that I'm an asshole! Of course this came as a complete shock to me and has completely changed the way I look at myself.![]()

That's like calling the sky blue...
I had the same initial reaction. In fact I told a buddy it was like telling shit that it stinks.
You can't really blame the poor guy. The internet (despite all the advancements of the web2.0) is still fairly anonymous. I guess he simply mistook you for a person who gave a damn and the shock of being wrong caused him to lash out.
All quite natural really.
The sad part is that it was on an RC forum. He posted a video in which his helicopter is supposedly, "extremely stable and almost immune to ground effect". At which point I explained that even real helicopters are effected by ground effect and that if he wanted to demonstrate stability, perhaps he should keep make a video with his helicopter actually hovering in one spot instead of being all over the place.
Funny part about how I interact with people in the RC forums. I try to keep the newbs from wasting money on "upgrades" that have no real effect or don't give enough of an improvement to justify their expense. Apparently the fact that I can type in complete sentences, don't have many spelling mistakes, and generally use proper grammar makes me a "pompous ass".
I got him banned in under 6 replies by goading him once he ran his mouth, after all it is a family forum.
I heard this was the place for the assholes to hang out (no goatse comments pun intended) so you can count me in
