    News: 2845 News Update

    As usual, a good deal of behind-the-scenes work has been going over at Clancore. The latest update didn't contain that much that is directly interesting IE eye candy, but there are some interesting points. For one, the fact that the devs have already begun the transition to the TGE:A, notably by working on new, high-poly models. Look forward to seeing those new models within the next few months. Also mentioned was a good deal of rear echelon organization was taking place, namely logistical issues and new member orienteering. Once again, boring news, but in the end it should make things go by smoother.

    Of greater interest to the public is the Clancore Development Network wiki, where the developers will be posting their techniques in the use of the Torque engine and general game construction. Hopefully, this will turn out to be a big asset for future developers, mod'ers, etc. Finally, there is the usual update in the staff roster. Some notable faces you might recognize are:

    Dave "Diamondback" Meddish (USA) - Level designer, techno babble
    Anyone that plays Tribes should recognize this name. A former Dynamix employee, Diamondback was a level designer and as he puts it a "hack writer" for both Starsiege:Tribes and Tribes 2.

    Tim "mrdr" Kautz (UK) - Sound FX lead, technical advisor
    mrdr is our new sound guy, and he has quite the pedigree as well. He is currently working for Splash Damage on Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars. Projects he has worked on in the past include Quake 3 Fortress, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, Doom3, Quake4 and a bunch of mods and maps as a contributor.
