ok here are some ways to piss off the most advanced players and give urself the upper hand.
1. lets say ur goin against some fag that LOVES shotguns. get urself a sword and hide in the room w/ the shotgun. the kills will come to you. same idea for a map like coagulation. hide out in the hills w/ a sniper rifle picking off ne1 that goes for the rocket launcher.
2. chaos close quarter combat (mouthful isnt it?) whenever u no ur going to hafta take some1 down in close quarters. throw a grenade on the ground and go through the smoke made so they wont c u till ur right in their face. hammer em w/ a shotgun like ur mamma taught u, redneck.
3. this always works for me and this strategy is called revenge of the underdog. ppl say the pistol and the plasma pistol are the worst wpns in the game. not so. they are perhaps the best close and medium range wpns available. charge up ur plasma pistol take down their shields then nail em in the head w/ the normal pistol for a 2 shot kill. i have perfected this to the extent where if i got the pistol/plasma pistol dual wield, i can kill even the best in less then a second.

After reading through all of those typos and misspelled words I have one thing to say: This is all common knowledge to anyone who has played Halo 2 for longer than 2 weeks. They are all tricks that one must at least somewhat learn early on to survive. Thank for attempting to give some information on the subject presented, but those were almost as bad as having to explain who the first president of the U.S. was (which I hope to god that everyone who knows anything about the U.S. knows that). And actually the plasma pistol/magnum combo is a bit slow and unpredictable compared to a straight dual magnum combo and a good aim at the head. It can usually outbeat even a swordie running right at you.

slow and unpredictable? whats slow and unpredictable about it? you shoot em w/ plasma and take shields down then 1 shot to the head... wheres the randomness in that? dual magnums? such a noob... it takes 9 SHOTS to take down their shields w/ dual mags.
and no... when you use these tricks skillfully there not noob, i won a city tournament w/ luring on coagulation, they all wanted that rocket launcher...
whenever some1 tried to snipe me id throw a grenade down, make smoke and run to a new place through the smoke.

I read this trick in a gamepro magazine:
On colossus in multiplayer, if you have a rocket launcher and a plasma sword, and your target reticle is Red switch to your plasma sword and hit R. You'll lunge across the room at your victim. i havent tried it, so i wouldnt know if it works, make sure you have an un-obstructed clear path to him/her, and the timing is a bit tricky, if you switch and you do a normal swipe, it's too late, and if theres no slash at all, its too early.

Yes yes yes, everyone should know that already. The problem is that Bungie supposedly fixed that little issue on their latest update. Although I have seen my friends do it another way than that which was fixed. Anyways, no I am not a noob. The plasma pistol just sucks way too much for a normal game. It's unpredictable in the fact that even if you are close more than 50% of the time you'll miss with the shot and get screwed over yourself. Dual magnums are pretty versatile. I never once said I was going for 1-2 shot kills to the head; I was going for speed. Woopty fricken doo if it takes 9 shots to kill the guy with the magnums the point is that it's a faster kill and takes considerably less aim to accomplish. Also, considering the change to the plasma pistol and SMG or other weapons combo, it has been made less effective after the update.

As to your sword DODGING, not how to lunge...moron, the only real strategy is to jump to the side or aim for the head. I have yet to find a successful, work everythime method, but usually a few shots to the head, ducking down a hill, or just a plain old slap in the back helps.

I know this sounds stupid. But the mag is pretty weak. thats why I like the plasma pistol and plasma rife.

The magnum was made weak. It's still strong when made a combo with another magnum or plasma pistol. I can still kill with only losing my shield with two magnums though.

yeah ive done that. its a little hard to do it with certain weapons though. the smg is a little difficult to do with a mag.

The SMG is a little difficult to make do with any weapon other than another SMG. But if you do a head to head against someone with dual pistols and someone with dual magnums. The magnums will win almost every time.

I really lke close quaters sniper though. Some one was running towards me with a flag and i one hit killed him.

Close sniper if fine if you can anticipate movements. Most of the time though it's based more on luck than skill.

sure is. if i snipe, i always keep a sword hany. if ones not avalible its the battle rifle.

This is fer metalguy: The best way in my opinion to dodge LOCKED swored attacks is jumping or sidestepping, it may not work all the time, but its your best bet (other than jumping) P.S. shoot the hell outta them before they reach you (swords still need to lock on)
