    Vista and Starsiege love ^_-

Alright folks, seriously, Vista and Starsiege are having issues recg. the mouse after load up. You have to use the arrow keys and tab button to get into a game. But when your in game you can play... IN SOFTWARE ONLY MODE DAMNIT! And on top of that, the vista compatibilty for ss works is none except that 640X480 that makes the ss window take up the whole screen. BTW the install goes fine without any mody. at all so, The big issue again is getting ss into that "Window"

T1 has gotten a workaround patch... something client sided or whatnot to get tribes one into that window. Anyways I wish sierra/vu could do something that cool with us. Either that or i'm going to get that source one way or another-

I know this thread is old, but since google points to it when you search i might as well toss up a way to get it running.

If you update the game from version 1.000 to 1.004 after copying the files over to vista, it will run full screen, however personally i have had issues with it crashing to desktop randomely.

      http://www.cybridassaultnetwork.com/...taFix_rev1.zip Vista patch.

      ___

Starsiege does not like Windows new 'Themes' and it does not like the font size any larger than 96 DPI. Nor does it like the taskbar to be set to 'always on top'. It prefers the resolution to be set at 640x380, but will run fine at somewhat larger resolutions, but not at extremly larger ones. If you want Starsiege to run properly using Vista (and in some cases XP), set your computer to the following preferences. You can set them back to your personal preferences when you are finished playing Starsiege with just a few clicks of the mouse.

      - Set your desktop THEME to 'Windows Classic'

      - Adjust your font size to 96 DPI

      - Set your screen resolution to 800x600 (this resolution works best), 32 bit color

      - Right click your Taskbar and make sure the 'always on top' box is NOT checked

      - Start Starsiege and go to the Options screen

      - Set the resolution to 800x600. It is important to match this to your Desktop resolution,
otherwise you will get large delays when entering games or flipping between screens

      - Set the Full Screen mode to OpenGL

      - Set the packet rate to 10

      - Save your setings and restart Starsiege.

                Angle-A,
Please edit you posts on how to get SS to run on Vista.
This article was authored by me on October 20/2008. You have left out the line stating that fact.
You gave me credit on the Starsiege Players forums but have ommitted it on these(and possibly other) forums. I expect recognition for my intellectual property when re-printed by others. Thanks in advance. LLSS!!

Forums are inherently public, so any information posted on them without a copyright or legal authorization at the beginning of the document is considered "public domain" and therefore is legible to be copied and reprinted by all who see it.

Since you do not own the source code, the Starsiege trademark or have any rights to the intellectual property currently owned by Garage Games; I feel it my duty to inform you that you cannot, infact, copyright shit.

I suggest you look into copyright laws before making assumptions on your rights.

C)You're a merc. I have several hundrud reasons why mercs suck and it makes no sense that they should some how be the largest squad in SS.

Second, I check the SS forums most every time I am on the internet. I frequently check for people who are wanting to come back to SS and need the updates/files to do so. I have in fact, brought several people back into SS, because I am always checking the forums for them.
You, on the other hand, haven't even made 10 posts here, and in general, you are not active in the site community, except mainly hanging around the mecenaries site.
C'mon, as soon as eye's master went up, who actually bothered to post it around the SS sites, and update said posts as changes occured? Who would point out that starsiege is still running to the ocasional person asking about it? Who got news articles about SS being alive posted on the front pages of SSP and tJY Hm? Me.
Excuse me to hell for ommiting the name of a guy who, in comparison to me, isn't doing a lot of shit for the web community as a whole.
Angel-A First thank you for what you've done to help the SS Community. Not sure if people are aware but www.starsiegeplayers.com is still up and running, and is one of the first places many newcomers end up. If any information (Masters for example) has changed, I'd appreciate it if that information is added there as well.

And As Angel-A has said, it was an oversight and not intentional. Let's stay friends here.

Why the fucking fuck is that anything posted about misspelling somehow always has a misspelling in it? God is very cruel.

Angel, sometimes God does bad things to us, because it makes him feel better about himself. He is a very vengeful God. He's all pissed off about something we did thousands of years ago. He just can't get over it, so he doesn't care who he takes. Typos, Murphy's law it don't matter to him, so long as it makes us sad. Do you understand?
